View Full Version : Unballanced tires?
Is it bad to drive on an Unballanced tire for say 200 miles?? Just wondering.
if you mean wheel, no, it wont hurt anything necessarily, just ride poorly. long term usuage may lead to odd tire wear

Why wouldn't you go get it balanced, it should be like $5-$10
because i bough 4 brand new tires that are getting put on tommorow. So why waste 10 bucks to get a tire balanced when its getting taking off tommorow?

Tires being out of balance can lead to "choppy" wear, but it would take a very long time to do that to a tire.
Just wait until you get your new tires, but make sure you balance them and keep them rotated and balance (every other oil change).
i have never ever heard of tires being out of balance. How does one balance a tire?
Wheels, on the other hand.....

Rob,
You are balancing the wheel and tire combination. The idea is to find the "high" and "low" spots, and to add weight to make them even.
This is commonly referred to as "balancing the tires" because the tires have the high and low spots, not the wheels.
like i said, i've never heard it called balance a tire. terminology differences, i know what it is

All that vibration is going to pound the hell out of all the suspension bushings and joints, but if its only for a day you should be able to get away with it.
