Red exterior and black Vader interior.
Clean title and currently registered.
All stock S52 engine and 5 speed ZF transmission.
No check engine light and no surprises.
Car has 174k on the clock and counting.

PROS: Rare OEM BMW staggered LTW wheels, good tires all around, working OEM BMW CD changer, brand new front brake pads and rotors, brand new cabin air filter, 75mm wheel stud conversion kit, DJAuto European headlights w/HID, smoked sidemarkers, smoked corner lights, red/smoke tail lights, K&N drop in panel air filter and a Valvoline synthetic oil change 500 miles ago. Car received a complete cooling system overhaul 5000 miles ago including: radiator, fan shroud, fan blade, fan clutch, coolant reservoir, thermostat, aluminum thermostat housing, water pump, coolant, and expansion tank hose. It got new spark plugs, a new intake boot, and new serpentine belts 5000 miles ago as well.

CONS: Sagging headliner, both front seats ripped, dent in nose panel between kidney grille and headlight, failing clearcoat on driver side mirror, failing clearcoat on top edge of rear bumper, some paint chipped off of front bumper, hood release is very hard to open, radio illumination not working, and radio volume knob very touchy. This car is 17 years old and is NOT PERFECT. Please don't show up expecting perfection. This car cleans up well and makes a great daily driver! It has been a great daily driver for the past year but I just have too many cars and something has to go.

*Asking $6900 obo.*

Well, time has finally allowed for me to start working on my E30. I'm an 18 year old high school kid so I don't have countless hours to work on it.

*A little background on the car:*
Sitting on JOM coils front and back
Currently running 16x8.25 XXR's, not a huge fan of them but they are OK
Fully adjustable rear subframe
Runs like crap
3" straight pipe, yikes!
Running 16x8.25 fronts and 17x9.25 rears in this photo:
Image: http://i.minus.com/jboCGeTee5sK1g.jpg
*---------------------------------------*
*May 24th:*

Here's my lovely little work space, crammed on one side by a boat and the other by an F-250. Don't be fooled, it's Laguna Green. Fairly dirty from sitting outside and driving it around in some dirt.
Image: http://i.minus.com/ihTeRf6x8vNIP.jpg

Started by pulling out the drivers seat (Also is that wire the Occupancy sensor or...?):
Image: http://i.minus.com/iLMZ3YDToommT.jpg

My carpet cleaner/shampoo thingy broke so I improvised and used a shop vac and the shampoo in spray bottle and used some elbow grease to scrub it in. Looks alright, better than before:

noises from a fan & beltless M20. Engine toast?

Please help me identify this noise. I thought it was either my pump/alternator belt, or maybe the fan, but after removing both and running the engine for 20 seconds (and taking this video) I'm positive it has to be something else.

Timing belt or bearing? I can't tell if it's coming from the top or bottom of the engine, but I can tell it's coming from the front, and that it's vertically inline with the crank and cam shafts.

EBYZMv4WYFo

Of note, this recording loses a tiny bit of the high pitched sound. In other words, in the recording it sounds more mechanical... though I suppose not much.

I noticed this sound starting about... 30-60 miles ago, give or take 20
It usually made it on start up, and then wasn't there by the time I rolled into my destination. This is why I originally thought it was a belt. It was only ever audible at idle. The last time I arrive home, I realized it was still making the noise, and it was at this point I parked it until today.

What do you guys think?

I noticed this sound starting about... 30-60 miles ago, give or take 20
It usually made it on start up, and then wasn't there by the time I rolled into my destination. This is why I originally thought it was a belt. It was only ever audible at idle. The last time I arrive home, I realized it was still making the noise, and it was at this point I parked it until today.

What do you guys think?
