i am confused, you implied in the first post that you wanted a 288 but that it was NA, but now a 288 is too narrow a powerband?
The RHD intake is going to tune in at higher rpm and behave...

a 2.8/2.9 with RHD 40mm itb and schrick 272 peaks at 6300-6500rpm and makes around 210-230whp with mild port job. if for some strange reason you want a low peak hp rpm then you dont want much duratio...

From what I have seen it works temporarily but It will recrack again eventually as it becomes inferior to the original as cast material due to the welding process. Also the area is subject to contaminants...

s52b32 or m54b30 89.6mm crank or even the s50b30US 85.6mm crank are all longer stroke than the 84mm in your engine.
the rods will be the same 135mm length and pretty much interchangeable...Last edited by digger; 03-05-2024, 10:25 PM.

if you are "not looking for hp gains" forget about the 885 swap and all that stuff just get the 200 head pressure tested to make sure it isnt cracked, and then get straigntened and/or resurfaced...Last edited by digger; 03-05-2024, 08:18 PM.

It’s a shame you didn’t find out the root cause as it would be interesting to know and be definitive in terms of solving the issue...

The mounting issues for the 6sp diesel box are somewhat known, i mean are you talking about putting the petrol gearbox internal parts into the diesel housing to achieve more favourable ratios rather than...

the 37BZ petrol ratios into the 37DZ diesel housing? have you seen any writeups?...

yes you can clean and replace those parts yourself but you need a system to flow test them and this is best done dynamically. More to the point rebuilt injectors are injectors that have been simply serviced...

cleaned, flow tested (but there is flow testing and there is flow testing), new o-rings, new basket filter and pintle cap...

rebuilt injectors are the equivalent of running some seafoam through an engine and changing the air, fuel and oil filters and calling the engine rebuilt
