Yet another M50 swap thread..

I found this after I posted in the DOHC forum, haha. Anyhow, I bought a M50tu about a month ago, right now it is getting new gaskets and a few new parts that got broken during shipping. After all that stuff is done, I'm putting on a Powerdyne blower (Just rebuilt with ceramic bearings, internal kevlar belt, and I'm going to buy the 928 motorsport "Super powerdyne impeller. So it will run around 11psi) and dropping it in my E30.

I will be using my 260 with a dougsic brace and E21 mounts, also a M42 radiator to clear the tensioner bolt. I am still undecided on the brake booster, clutch/flywheel, and tuning. Here are some terrible pics for you guys, lol










I also have 2 oem delphin fenders, I just haven't put them on yet. The previous owners gave this thing hell, it has never been in any accident..it just has a whole lot of dents. Don't you guys love the E30tech.com stickers that came on it? lol

your parts list is waaaaay too short. should be like 10x as long by the time yer done. cant wait to see some dyno numbers on that mofo.

Well, changed the plans abit for Mo Powa

Ditched the Powerdyne idea, going turbo now.

Here is my turbo parts list so far :)

T3 60-1 turbo .70 AR Compressor / .84 turbine
42lb Ford Green tops
Custom Top mount manifold w/38mm wastegate flange
tial 38mm wastegate
APR Headstuds
Walboro fuel pump
Ebay piping kit
Ebay IC
Blitz BOV
MLS .140 Headgasket with lots of Hylomar :)
Megasquirt? Still not sure, maybe TT or AA tuning...

Should be looking at around 450rwhp with this set up :)

Update? I'm doing a similar setup with a non vanos. Bigger turbo tho. Getting the crank chain on the exhaust cam was a biiitch thanks to the 0.140 mls gasket.

450rwhp! That's pretty good. Will it be on a stock bottom end?
Any headwork?
Also, just a tip for you...avoid the Ebay IC. You can buy a GReddy, HKS, or Spearco core, and have some custom end-tanks welded on.

Sounds like fun w/ a turbo m50'd e30. just the m50'd e30 is a heck of a lot of fun to drive, definitely jealous of the turbo thrown into the mix.
