ok folks, figured i had some free time at 2:30 in the morning.
anyways..
heres a little DIY i figured id write on how to debadge your E30, or any car that is. (((WARNING!!! Do this only if you have confidence in yourself and or ability to be very careful and precise!))
ok on we go.. step 1: MATERIALS.
I like to use the following.
on with the BOR-A-FILL...
ok..step 1. "WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE..?.."
Make your approach. try and find any height difference in the badge, for example if its old maybe its glue is losing hold in a small corner start there, if its perfectly on there, drink some more and dive in. now..how do you dive in. thats where we hit chapter 2.
Step 2" "should i bring my F()*Kn tools!?"
heres where the screwdriver and rag come into play, the screwdriver is obviouslly going to be used to pry at the badge,
but the shop rag being that its thick acts like a padding so the shaft of the screwdriver doesnt scratch the paint on the fine edges of the trunk lid. Its thick but not too thick like a towel or a sock. (dont ask why i said sock) now onto the next.
Step 3" guy 1: I cant find the hole!? Guy2: Whats the matter you need hair on it or something?!
Lets take the approach shall we?.
like i stated above in the beginning of this oh so long and so patiently written DIY, Find the right angle to pick at. I couldn't find one myself so i took another sip, and went to town.
now using the rag under the screwdriver shaft and supporting it to make sure its not directly forced or layed onto the paint or trunklid, use those fingers to finagle (Onamonapia:(cant spell) the flat edge under more towards the base of the emblem wrather than the adhesive they oh so hapily lay nice and thick on there being that the badge can survive world war 14 but our stupid..wait..stupid..1 more. stupid Strut rotting problem cant be oh so looked into a shyt-a-Titty tit tit more, anyways on with the program, stop getting me off topic.
BE Patient, don't rush any of these points. it takes time to do this,
oh wait. i got it. nice
gotcha!, ok here we go, snagged up a corner... but working the screwdriver and fingers all up on it like a fat kid in a bakery make sure u dont get to close to the paint! ahh!
ok now that i got that, lets keep it going.
Step 4: (SIP) ok, feel around, 2nd base whatever kids call it(If you shake it more than 3 times your playing with urself)
i figured it would make it much easier to take the "lets work around the edges approach. i started with the corner i found then worked the bottom portion of the badge, also here and there saw some spots uptop and around the whole area that allowed me to pick around.
heres a few shots, (sip)
SIP SIP SIP SIP SIP....
(PS i know these arent in order but you all get the POINT!!!!.) back on topic..
SIP.
STEP (lost track and too lazy to scroll up)5 (I think)
"TOUCH IT IN THE BACK!"
I got pretty much all the edges up enough to get under there with my fingers like so.
so i saw an opening and slowly lifted each side up like a halfpipe shape allowing only the center (mostly) which is usually the hardest part to get being that its where theres the most emblem.
now with the help of..(SIP) the screwdriver i decided i had lost patience and just handled it. DO WORK,(NOT #2 work, but do work work)
(SIP) almo (sip) st........gotcha!/
Step 6(I think still)...SIP
"STICKY ICKY ICKY. OO WEE,95 plus fo' penny's. aaadd that $#*t up!"
glue. sucks. ok lets (SIP) get to that now.
since sometimes that glue they use hardens up around the edges cause of dirt buildup and usually under the letters is where it stays slightly soft, i used the  like i stated in the materials list to try and soften up the glue, at the same time lift away most of the little bit of dirt around the outline, and at also (SIP) brush away some of the small stickyness thats left around the area,
I used the hop towel because theyre very absorbent, have a soft but yet course texture so its good for that sticky crap (sip). now using the towel just spread some of the oops on the towel, and rub away at the glue getting as much "surface" crap out of the way. you dont have to go too crazy, only reason why im taking these specific steps is to minimize the risk of scratching or messing with the paint. its not mint but im trying to make it last after hours of detailing it, PS thats not a DIY post but i project post in MEMBERS RIDES (ill link up later) anywaysl.,back tCRAP..SIP SIP..SIP.(notice i never wrote next bottle, but im probbly a 2 or 3 in, enjoying the weather and pumping BASSDRIVE.COM the whole time..whoot whoo, where my drum and bass soldiers,
:drink::loco::loco:
