remember that ticket I got on the way to e30 picnic?

this was some laughable good news. it's token, but was fun getting there.

I might just staple it to the wall in the garage for good luck. :D

yeah they dropped the fine to $90. it's a token gesture, but they sent it because i wrote them a nice little note implying that i was ticketed in an underhanded way. i will guess that they lowered the citation to 'exceeding posted speed' instead of '10 over'

Try out the urban myth about never cashing a check from the ticket you overpay for and it will never enter your record. Sounds stupid IMO.

I have been seriously considering it, especially since they called it out in the letter

i was in a 70 zone. i entered a 60 mph construction zone. i had been driving at the limit all day. i exited the construction zone, began easing my speed back to status quo. came around a corner and got radar'd at just under 70, tootling along with traffic in the right lane. officer asked me why I was going 10 over, I explained that construction was over, and I was returning to prior marking. he said 'did you see a sign saying it was ok to back to 70?'

dick. first ticket in well over 10 years.
