its been a long time coming.....the DD rebuild

I've been lucky enough to own my 04/87 325i since it rolled off the lot, it's been a long time coming but finally my 250-270k 325i is finally getting rebuilt! She's my DD so I'm starting with body work and interior before I even start to touch the engine. I bought an 02/87 325is as a parts car and so far it's been a great help funding the project. Here are a few pics of how she stands at the moment along with a list of everything I plan on doing in the coming month or two.

    Stage 1:

    All new grills
    iS front valance and Airdam
    iS Side Skirts (on order)
    Rear apron (Zender, Mtech, anything)
    Sunroof Panel replacement
    US Ellips
14" Basketweaves (on the parts car atm)
    DB Tuck
    Stock exhaust Replacement (from iS)
    Euro Bumper Trim
    Front Windshield

    Stage 2:
    Alpinweiss Paintjob
    Shadowline the chrome

    Stage 3:
    Door Seals
    e36 Window Switches
    e46 center console
    GGraves Dimmer Relay and Voltometer
    Car Alarm/Keyless Entry/Remote Start
Alpine Type R Components (Kick Panels)
    Interior Radio Antenna
Custom Fiberglass Trunk Box (10" Alpine Type R)
    Complete New Speaker Wire install
New Alpine CD Deck (not sure what model atm)
Steering Wheel Reupholster (needs new leather)
Trunk and Rear Seat Sound Deadening
    Thorough Detailing

    Stage 4:
    Bilstein Shocks and Struts
    BavAuto Lowering Springs
    Painted Valve Cover (iS)
    MSD Blaster 2 Coil
    Complete Hose Replacement
    Front Strut Bar
    Performance Headers
    Performance Exhaust (Stromung, Supersprint, etc)
    Miller MAF Conversion

      Pics of Before and Current

      Before:

      Current:

I pulled the trunk carpet to identify a leak (taillight gasket) and this is what I found:

Luckily it's just dirt stains and doesn't appear to be a rust issue. The greatest part about my car having lived in Texas for the first 20 years is almost ZERO rust!!!

Progress is gonna be tough, we just started staging both operas this week and I have an small issue with working in the cold (I don't like it! lol). I'm waiting on a pretty big order from Tischer BMW to come in including my new iS Side Skirts! I'll post pics tomorrow of all the parts I've gotten in so far. Just finished putting in an order at BavAuto for some parts as well.

I wish I could, but because this is my only car here in MD and my rehearsal schedule keeps me on stage 6 days a week I simply won't have the time to get the suspension done all at once which is exactly what I want to do. Luckily the suspension isn't in bad shape, just hasn't been replaced in awhile.

I can't wait for my order to come in, I couldn't find the right skirts I wanted used so I just ended up buying the iS ones new from Tischer, Unfortunately my 1k order is going to take a while to come in cuz at least half of it had to be shipped from Germany as usual

Yeah, when i place large orders like that, I try to split them up into two groups so I'll at least get the ones coming from stateside sooner.
