    My 87 325.

Well a 87 325 popped up FS on the forums here. It was actually 1/2 a mile from my house. So it actually worked out perfect that it was so close to me.
Someone before me did an "I" swap on it and tried to use the "E" electronics and some other "E" parts. I wasnt going to piss around with the current motor since it had some oil leaks and what not.

Anyways this is what it looked like when I got it.

I bought the car last month on Aug 24th. I had the old motor pulled out and the engine bay cleanded up first thing on the 25th and the new one sat in place.

I had to leave on Aug 26th for vacation so the car sat from then till the 30th. Yesterday and today I finally got to finish everything up. Big Big thanks to EricT for wiring up my harness and taking car of that whole deal.

And here is a little video of her running.

Exhaust will come tomorrow. Waiting on the short shifter and H&R springs to come in the mail. Should have all that stuff taken care of by the end of the week.

Not bad for only a few days worth of swapping in a fresh motor.

I have no more then 700 max into the whole car/motor swap. 90% of the stuff I already had laying around the garage. I found ways around buying other things to save lots of money to do the swap.

Nope, Stock. This is going to be my daily driver. With the weather getting bad Im going to need something reliable. This will fit the bill just perfect.

Already mentioned these in the previous PMs I take it? (slotting firewall to reuse M20 brake booster, etc)

Yup.. Slot the firewall 3/4 inch. The "C" shaped piece off the booster will now connect to the actual pedal instead of that bracket.
I will snap a photo tomorrow. This is how much room I have.

Instead of buying the e28 mounts my buddy made me some out of derlin from work.

Instead of buying an adapter for 150+ I just bought the M20 c101 and pins from the dealer for 20.00 and EricT wired it directly in my harness. so the engine harness is plug and play.

Instead of 125.00 for ebay headers that are thin and dont fit well. 50.00 for S52 headers with plugged 02 ports and welded EGR..

              With them 4 mods alone I saved about 450.00 + or -

150 saved from not buying a booster and res.
60 saved from not buying motor mounts.
150 saved from not buying an adapter.
75 saved from not buying ebya headers.

Things add up. people just dont think before they buy.

                          ok little update..
The interior of this car was a mess. Wish I would have taken more photos of it before I started.

Anyways this is what it looks like now.

Switched out the Mtech one wheel for the airbag wheel. I like these wheels better. some people dont but I guess thats just me.

Carpet is all nice and clean, Thanks to the wife for scrubbing the shit out of it.

Then I pressure washed the interior and replaced the seat back on the driver seat, mucho better now.

Rear seat all nice and clean.

I figure since the interior was out and I was waiting on it to dry I would dye the headliner.

Yeah I did the rear speaker deck at the same time.

Well thats all, more to come later.

Cool. I've already got E28 mounts and S52 manifolds (getting welded by a buddy, they're identical to M52 manis aren't they?)

I was planning on doing the wiring myself, still looking into that.

                            Two more things

I'm still intrigued by the booster setup (don't feel like shortening/thinning/threading a new booster), do you have any more pictures of how you go about this?
And, what radiator did you wind up using? It was an '87 so the stock radiator wouldn't work directly, unless they swapped to the later rad when they did the engine conversion. I'm half considering trying to get different rad hoses that would fit my '87 radiator, and half considering just buying a new M42 rad so I don't have to worry about rad hoses.

Yeah the M52 headers are the same...

As for the booster I wish I took more photos because I knew people would as more questions. I will make something up in MS paint to try and explain it a little easier to everyone. Sucks that the intake was already shaved like that when I got th motor because it wasnt needed with this setup. Im gonna have to clean that up a little.
I used the M42 rad. I bought one hose for another car and I cut both of my hoses out of that one hose. I will get the part number off of it later today or tomorrow.
And the wiring isnt that hard really, EricT did it for me but I understand better on how he got the info he did.
