items: late model plastic bumpers w/ mounting hardware and euro trim.

Shipped via fedex, items arrived on time with no damage. So far so good.

Except that the euro trim was not euro trim. It was US trim made to look like euro and it looked like complete shit. I was pissed off. I admit i wasn't terribly rational about my refund demands via email and paypal but I think the amounts were fair. He claimed he didn't know they were fake. I claimed he's either full of shit or a complete moron. My hotheadness only got me $30 back. Oh well. I'm moving on.

If the front bumper wasn't covered like it was in the picture, it would have given it away. I feel cheated.

Bought a used eta head from Patrick. He was very responsive on the PM's, shipped it quickly, it was very well packaged, and the head was in awesome condition!

I actually had no idea that this thread existed but now that I see it I do want to respond to this.

So while he may feel cheated, I was truly unaware that the trim was not euro trim. I bought the bumpers in the condition they were when I re-sold them and I was told that they were euro trim pieces on the bumpers. I opened the boxes, checked for cracks, re-boxed them, and stored them for install later in the project. Things changed and I sold the car and bumpers.

e30 Wagen is 100% correct- the trim was NOT Euro, but at my glance I saw that there were no marker lights so I assumed them to be correct. They were sold to me as "needing paint" so I never gave it much thought.

When he sent me close-up pictures I was embarrassed that I never saw the backs of the trim where there had been fiberglass and body filler applied to the trim. I simply never saw it.

As for the amount of the refund, he initially demanded a full refund of his purchase price PLUS the cost of shipping PLUS me covering him shipping them back but PayPal deemed that unreasonable due to the shipping cost. I agreed and made the counter-offer that would avoid both of us wasting money on shipment.

I found 5-6 other plastic bumper sale threads and offered the difference between the price that he paid and the average sale price of a plastic bumper set with US trim. He accepted this counter offer without comment. I apologized for my oversight and felt that the refund was fair. Neither of us wanted the actual outcome- I had overpaid for the bumpers and he did not have the trim that he wanted.

Had I seen this post sooner I would have replied sooner.
