Radio whine when driving with A/C on

The title says it all. I have a stock radio so this is kinda surprising. When the A/C is off the whine goes away.

    Bad ground somewhere perhaps? Thoughts?

Sounds like a bad ground. Start with the engine ground and starter grounds..

You sure its the radio not the alternator whining? If its the radio it sounds like its electrical noise.

Did you figure this out? I saw a similar instance on e30Tech where they thought it might be the A/C Expansion valve.

            I have a similar issue.

If it's the radio whining for sure might want to check the rf interference ground attached from the core support to hood. small silver one left side.
