Difference in taillights, what else?

I've been searching for a parts car for my 1988 320i 4 door .

I've stumbled across a 1989 325i 4 door for relativly cheap, after looking at the car i've noticed it has the vertical reverse lights on the tails, where mine has the horizontals.
Given this fact will swapping parts between the two cars be a problem?

I've heard all the talk about tails being incompatible and im not bothered if its just the tails that can't be swapped, but do they effect the swapping of bumpers/rear panels/boot lids ect?

you just need to search. one is a pre-facelift- the other is the later(facelift), most parts are interchangeable though.
