** Car was purchased and kept in California. Well documented maintenance (thick folder) from the time car was purchased.

** attached below is the description of the car from the previous owner

It saddens me to sell my beautiful 1988 BMW 325is, but the time has come. This car is not your typical worn-out E30. She has been loving maintained by me and has been my daily driver since 2004 (sold her to a friend in 2005 and bought her back in 2006). Always a California car with the excception of the 9 months she spent in Seattle with my friend. Excellent running condition and cosmetics. I would not hesitate to drive her across the county (in fact I have). I have numerous service records on her and frankly know her inside and out (see below). Original and functional odometer shows 224,000 miles which can be verified by Carfax. She is mostly original except for some thoughtful upgrades.
    ENGINE

Original M20 2.5L inline six. The head was rebuilt prior to my ownership at 100,000 miles (have documentation). Only modification is a JC chip (original comes with the car). Oil changed religiously every 3K miles. Timing belt/tensioner/water pump/coolant/drive belts changed at 190000 miles. Valves adjusted at 215000 miles and are very quiet. The car does not use oil! In fact I don't need to add any between oil changes. Oil pan gasket weeps very slightly - not even enough to leave a spot on the garage floor. Fuel pump recently replaced at 218000 miles. She pulls very strong and still gets about 25mpg. Amazing engine.

    TRANSMISSION/DIFFERENTIAL

Getrag 260 5spd manual transmission. Shifts perfectly with no gears no grinding issues. I recently replaced the clutch disc/pressure plate/pilot bearing/throw out bearing with OEM parts at 219,600 miles. At that time I added a Z3 1.9 shifter to shorten the shift throws (original shift lever included with the car). The car has a later style lighted shift knob and leather shift boot. Redline oil in the transmission and LSD differiential changed when I did the clutch at 219,600 miles. Differiental seals and driveshaft replaced at 166,900 miles.
    SUSPENSION/STEERING/BRAKES
Suspension - Koni Yellows and E30 M3 springs at all 4 corners. Ireland camber kit front. Ireland eccentrics rear - this makes it possible to align the rear suspension for better handling and tire wear. E30 M3 rear sway bar and E30 Convertible front sway bar. (These bars are larger than the stock 325is sway bars). Very expensive aluminum E30 M3 control arms and control arm bushings. Rear wheel bearings just changed at 223,000 miles (not a fun job). Rear subframe bushings replaced at 166,900 miles.
Brakes - Stock brakes with Textar pads. A complete set of braded steel brake lines were installed at 166,900 miles. Ate brake/clutch fluid changed last year at 210,000 miles.
Steering - E30 M3 steering rack installed at 188,000 miles. This steering rack is expensive, but a correct fitment for a 325is and offers a faster ratio and better feel.

    INTERIOR

Nice black interior. Original sport seats are in great shape - normal wear but are not worn out. No rips or tears. Door panels and headliner are in excellent condition. Dashboard is perfect - NO CRACKS. Alpine CD/MP3 player with red illumination to match the interior. Instrument cluster needles finished in red (ala E30 M3). Tinted windows.
    PAINT AND BODY
Original factory paint with the exception of the later 89-01 OEM plastic bumpers which I added. The paint is in great shape for its age - still shines nicely. NO RUST. The car does have some minor dents and stone chips - to be expected after 22 years. California car with no rust or accidents. All original body panels which can be verified with their vin stickers. The paint does have some oxidation only on its plastic surfaces (mirrors and trunk spoiler only).

    WHEELS AND TIRES

ASA 16x7 wheels in the correct offset. 4 Dunlop Dirreza Star Spec tires installed at 210,000 miles. Lots of tread left. 2 wheels have some curb rash, but no major gouges. Original spare tire and wheel look new.

    ELECTRICAL AND ACCESSORIES

A/C system converted to R134a refrigerant and blows very cold. All 325is options including power sunroof, power windows, trip computer, etc work perfectly. Unlike most E30s, the power antenna also works perfectly. The headlights have been changed for fresh ones (OEM Hella Elips) and I've added Euro high beams. All lenses are covered in clear bra protective film. Footlights have the usual pitting, but are not cracked. The oil light on the check panel above the rear view mirror is non-functional. All gauges (including the odometer) work perfectly.

    EXHAUST

Original with the exception of a new OEM muffler at 166,900 miles. This car passes CA smog tests very easily (she was just passed smog a few months ago in May. I have all smog records from my time with the car in my possession. . The car is registered until May 2011.
I really hope that if the car sells that it will be purchased by someone who loves her as much as I do. She deserves to survive.
