E30S50 at roebling road PCA DE

first time to the track with S50 m3 swap engine at Roebling Road.good runs, with speed near 140mph at end of straight..Had fuel pick-up issues, had to keep tan...

First time to track with my e30 with s50 swap g240/3.73lsd. Had fuel pick up issues so had to run with full tank. Running spece30 suspension, and Toyo r888.My first time running an e30 at a track.. Need coil overs ( way to soft for my taste) and maybe massive brakes, although stock wasn't bad..car weighed 2575 with full tank, carpet and rear seat..tire temp were great across all tires.

Next VIR, stock brakes will be the true test..coil overs first !!

    Thanks. Dan

What have you done to drop the weight to 2600lbs?

Nothing really, removed the the tar like sound proofing from the rear.removed both stock seats and installed a corbeau fx1 pro seat for the track, that's about it..at first I was surprised, but that scale at roebling road is pretty dead on,I've weighed my other race cars on it and compared them with professional scale, and they are very close..next will be the carpet, rear seat,etc.. I plan on running NASA time trials, but I'm waiting to see what class with 2500 lbs/260hp I would run in. TTB/TTC. Not sure!

Hawk ht10 pads,ATE fluid,ss lines..roebling road doesnt require allot of hard braking, just into turn one, but VIR and CMP will be the real test to stock brakes

Very nice! I just picked up some FX1 Pros myself. My car is almost finished, but I couldn't get it ready in time for the BMWCCA school at Putnam Park this year...next year!
Was that your first time out ever or just with the S50?

Was the car previously a 4 banger (318is?) I had the same issue in regards to the pick up issue at Watkins Glen over the weekend. The tank need to be topped off above the 1/2 mark other wise it would cut out at turn 5 and turn 7...

That's pretty good, I wonder why mine is so heavy! it's 2630 with a full tank and all kinds of crap removed:cockbloc:

the fuel cut off is a semi common e30 issue for later models with only one pump. early models had two, but you could go and get a secondary external pump to rectify that matter.

Yeh, I'm contemplating this...BUT having a secondary pump won't really change anything if the fuel can't be picked up from the LEFT side of the tank. I'm seriously considering an accumulator but then again, carrying around the 5 gallon jug that I had is also a cheaper solution. Only catch is that the car will be heavier...

An accumulator can't be all that much more expensive. I can't say for certain as I haven't spec'd one out yet but I'd imagine it's a better long term solution then a "heavy" band aid. but that's just my opinion.

And I totally agree with your opinion ;) I'll worry about that after I wrap up finals!

Very sweet! I got mine a little lighter, but nowhere near the hp. I would kill to have a 10:1 hp to weight ratio! I am stuck with 17:1:(
