    leaky axles?

I've replaced a couple axles that have leaked grease in this area (you can see it in the pic) - what is causing this failure and is it repairable or should I throw the axles out?

BTW it is not from the wheel bearing as I replaced those. Also my brake calipers do not leak.

The seal where the metal cap fits onto the CV joint has failed. Or at least that what it looks like in the picture. That is repairable with new OE boot kits.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Here is a link to the OEM kit for inner cv. Does it look like the part you mentioned come with the kit?

Are we talking about inner or outer? The outer cap has a flange on it, once removed or tampered with you need to replace it. This is not an easy job, a new flange needs to be put on a lath to be pressed on. There is also a very small seal or gasket that is present.
