    Need Help Identifying a Part

A few weeks ago the G260 in my '89 325iX got stuck in reverse. I tried everything with the transmission in the car to get it unstuck without luck. So the car is at a transmission shop 300 miles away, where they've pulled the transmission and revealed that it is in fantastic condition (after 228k miles) with the exception of one bushing.

This bushing is the part I need R3v's assistance in identifying. The shop is calling it a "Teflon Detent Bushing". They say the inner diameter is about the same size as the diameter of a US Dime. They are also indicating that there is a pin or rod that slides through the middle of the bushing when reverse is engaged.

I was looking on RealOEM and have asked the shop to do the same. However, since I'm not with the car/transmission I'm not sure what they're talking about. Hopefully the power of R3v will save the day!

    (Thank you in advance!)
    Chris

You also may call metric mechanic or a BMW specific rebuild shop.

Here's the picture they sent. They stated it is on the passenger side of the transmission in the upper portion of the rear (near the output). The transmission mechanic's exact words were "the linkage slides through this bushing to go into reverse". When I sent them the RealOEM transmission diagrams they were certain that the bushing was not on any of them.

No pictures of the actual bushing, but the dimensions are as follows:

          Length: .800"
          OD: .780"
          ID: .630"

The following picture is where the pushing is inserted.
