    [Help] Odd Knocking Noise

Alrighty, so I just had the clutch replaced and I was driving around today and I noticed an odd knocking noise.

The noise began when I started in first and it would make 4-6 knocks and then quit. It only did it in first gear too.

I went to an empty parking lot to try and diagnose it (i.e. how many revs was it when it started and ended and such) but it wasn't making the noise anymore!

    Anyone have ideas?

    Thanks!

Cool! I'll look into that, just seems weird that the noise disappears though...

The first symptoms of a failed CSB are knocking/bumping sounds from the center of the car when the drive train is subjected to high torque loads, which happens in the slowest gears. In almost all cases, failure of the CSB will be caused by binding u-joints in the drive shaft. Meaning that both must be replaced.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
