MD Historic Tags : Sneaking Legislation! ALERT

Be aware ya'll. They are trying to screw over the only good thing of this state, Historic Tags.

Send e-mails to these knuckle heads in Annapolis to not fool with historic registration.

Cut and copy that email list. Send them all a quick line or so saying to not support that crap. It will be detrimental to the hobby, etc.

Here I always thought that the Historic part of it was a good idea to encourage people to save money by driving older cars and not having to spend big bucks on emission equipment.

            Wait a second...

My mistake is thinking that the Government would ever want to help us to save money.

Why save money when I can take more of yours?

The government doesn't want people to drive old cars. They want you to keep buying new ones to help the auto industry and stimulate the economy. Doesn't make sense from a logical standpoint but makes sense for them personally because they probably get money from people like the car companies to make decisions in their favor.

odd, since it hasn't been that long since Virginia actually loosened up the vintage car tag rules (giving a bigger distance limit, and eliminating annual mileage). Of course, Virginia it has always been 25 years for "historic/vintage"....you guys had it good in the U.S.S.M.

Don't worry - the people with the money who donate to campaigns are the ones with the high-dollar vintage cars. You can bet their reps will hear from them.

From what I've heard, the main reason is abuse of the law, not money. Like people registering cars vintage and daily-driving them (a guy at my work does that with his corvette), or guys buying a "vintage" box van and then using it for work.....

My rallycross car is tagged vintage, but luckily rallycross is a "car club activity" (SCCA) :)
