    SoCal Canyon Reviews/Talk

I've changed the name of this thread so we can talk about our beautiful canyons, Ratings, conditions, news etc... this way we can get a following going on and maybe have a few friendly and safe tours of these canyons together.

A good resource that I have found is this site: http://lateralg.com/

Lets rate our SoCal canyons by:
    a) 1-5 (5 being the best) for level of fun
    b) Difficulty: Low, medium, hard
    c) Regularly monitored by local authorities?
    d) Follow by a short description of your experience. also include the time of day you visited the site

    example:
Santiago canyon (2, Low, Yes), Visited about 11am

I overheard some kids talking about santiago canyon pass and today I had some nice alone time with my girl to see if she would like to stretch her legs a lil bit...

meh...there are better roads out there.

Too short, not very twisty but long straights, and I saw 3 cops.

Chris, you turned the wrong way at Cooks Corner - should have gone right on Trabuco Cyn rd. Has it all but watch for cops - very twisty & scenic, many car ads for TV shot here.

theres supposedly always cops there but ive only seen them once back there...when a 240sx went off at the hairpin at the end/beginning (depending on which side you started from)

they were walking around with a 30 rack box...seemed legit.

Angels Crest is beast. It's a long drive but well worth it.

Las Flores cyn, quickly followed by Latigo Cyn in Malibu, 15 miles of twistities fun.

Do it at night time, it adds to the whole experience. :D

Nothing beats mulholland cyn. From the 23 off the 101 to pch. 20 miles of pure, 2nd/3rd gear twisties.

Try driving the hwy 330 to hwy 18 to Big Bear at night haha. I did that 6 days a week for 4 years !!! Rowland heights to Bear Mtn in Big Bear. I had 4 big hella 500 lights on a bracket set up i made to hold them below the bumper to use(extra lighting). It was dark when i left and it was dark when i came home. That is some 30 miles of black as night driving.
