ButtChug has dissappointed the r3v community lately. I deliver no build progress on any of my cars, my life sucks and I bring nothing to the table. plain and simple...
Ive spent the past few months selling off the last of my silver 318i that was destroyed by some ignorant f*&k who fled the scene of an accident late last year. On a lighter note I was able to get my hands on a nice late model sedan, which I am daily driving now. Aside from all my e30 turmoil, saturday morning I managed to stumble upon what seemed to be a decent alpine white 318is. Craigslist brings the heat time and again. Turns out this neglected turd was just a few blocks away from my place of residence, so I gathered up the cash and went over there.
Whatever, on to the important things, like all black interior with sport seats in acceptable shape, The H&R sport springs, the new driveshaft, the short shift of some kind and the recently rebuilt/ refreshed M42. PO confirmed a timing case overhaul. Upon further inspection I was surprised that it was indeed all new parts.
After a few minutes at home in my garage. Drove that it right in. Yes, I know, my turbo dschwartz car is under a cover hidden from the world not building boost. Again, FML
The final assesment:
The good:
Some new parts
driveshaft
shift linkage
lowering springs
clean title
timing case update
new windshield
tint
all stock otherwise
NO RUST, HELL YEAH
The bad:
The PO stripped out all the lower pan bolts and now the upper pan needs to be replaced. It leaks about a quart of oil every half hour.
Dented drivers side fender
cracked front bumper
somewhat faded paint
bcaps
shot tires
white painted door handles WTF
dirty as all hell
smells funky
ghetto exhaust mods
janky ass PO shift knob
Stupid PIAA integrated fog light button.
No fogs
Destroyed front valence
Cosmetic shit
stupid sun roof wind deflector
Plans: build it right and let my brother drive it. Maybe sell it later on. Because I may sell it this thread is basically to document what I do so it is not lost. I now own 4 e30s. Lets not mix up services and modifications.
The car has now been in my hands for a little over 24 hours. Im not in the mood for dicking around. Yes, that fender hanging on the wall belongs to this car.
