    Spencer's 1988 E30 325IS Coupe

    Hey everyone !
Spencer here from Perth Australia , recently swapped 2 race karts that were gathering dust in my shed for a BMW E30 325IS ! I've owned many cars (mostly Toyotas , 4age Ke70, MR2 Aw11, Ae82 4agze, Cressida ) to be honest the is my first car thats not Toyota ! but I've fallen hard for this car its so gorgeous, comfortable and clean for her age. She drives perfect and only has 153000 on the clock

My plans are to clean her up a bit.
General Service - Oil, Oil Filter, Spark Plugs, Injector Clean Air Filter , Coolant, Gearbox oil. Not sure if I should do timing belt.
Tint - Got my heat gun ready to go to take if off
ABS - ABS light is always on, thinking its the relay but I'm quite handy on the soldering iron or just replace.
Coolant - Coolant light is always on, needs a clean or to be replaced.
Black Trim - Car has only had 250k's put on her over 3 years and has been sitting a lot . so plastics have faded grey. Will get trim paint for this.
Rear Left Wheel Bearing - A bit nosey
Trip Meter - Its not working , Any idea's ? While I'm there going to rip the stupid yellow dials out.
Sun Roof - Needs A little help to pop it up. WD40
Paint - Could do with a cut & polish

Let me know what you think !

If you're not sure about the timing belt, do it. Nice score.

So went to a German car meet this weekend , was a good turn out with everything German !
I had quite a lot of interest in her because these are extremely rare in Australia .
I took the tint off and started cleaning up the external trim .
                Still haven't polished her .

Very nice!! Find some m-tech 2 door sills and sport seats or throw in some recaros. Regarding the coolant light - if the level sender's bad(jumper it to confirm) be sure to buy Genuine BMW, I tried new aftermarket(Febi) and it didn't fix it. Installed a OEM BMW and it went away.

Trip meter will most likely need gears and keep the tranny - You have the EH slush box that allows you to select your shift settings.

Like QVB2 said, do the timing belt and water pump if you're not sure.

                        Thanks guys ,

Yeah the auto box has 3 settings , sports, economy , 1-2-3 ?? Drag ?
Like I said I don't mind the auto box just as a cool daily. I race 125cc karts , I know what speed is and keep all those antics to the track.

I did read that the trip meter gears break if you reset the meter I'm going to do more work on her this weekend (long weekend!)
