My HPDE E30 build. 87 BMW 325is

Last week i purchased my first E30, a 87 BMW 325is. Plans for the car is to make it a HPDE track car. Car has 185,000 miles and ticks like crazy.

I bought the car for 2,000.

Mods:
Bavarian performance chip
Bavarian fuel regulator
Some kind of intake (Looks to be the kit Bavarian sells)
Long tube headers (brand unknown at this time)
Klutch wheels 15x8.5
Unknown springs
Bilstein HD shocks
Eibach front sway bar
Eibach front upper strut bar

The interior was very moldy smelling when bought and the seats, carpet were basically.. nasty. I started with removing the interior and seats for cleaning. Next i did a valve adjustment, and upon inspection the inside looks great! Intake valves of cylinders 3 and 4 were way out of spec causing the bad tick. Engine runs smooth and its very quiet now.

The car does have a surging idle caused by a few holes in the valve cover breather hose. So i bought this kit: (thanks Bavarian Autosports)

Bavarian autosport shift rebuild kit
Jaffster shift knob
Corbeau seats with harness
Ground Control coilovers
Bilstein Sport series shocks
Exhaust (haven't made my mind up)
Half cage
New differential mounts
New pedal box assembly
New intake filter
Rear sway bar

The clutch pedal was in the process of being adjusted, the gas pedal is getting an overhaul, the brake pedal is fine. There is some pep boy covers on it which will be removed. I'm currently looking into purchasing a pedal assembly. Thanks!

Gave it its first wash, clay bar and wax. Paint came back pretty nice. Parts will be coming in soon and the project will really get going. I am going this weekend to check out a parts car someone is giving away for free. Its just missing the engine and its really nice. I guess i am lucky :) Ill post more when i can

Looking good! I'm looking to get my project going here soon, so I am definitely gonna be looking back to this thread or might even ask some question if its ok. I am torn if I should get a 4 door, or just strip my 2dr. Its a hard decision since I've had her for long.

If my interior was in good shape i might have left it alone. If yours is in good shape id try and find another e30 you wont feel bad about taking apart! Ask away!

Where in Tampa are you?? I am in Orlando for school but am originally in Tampa and have plans to turn my 87 IS into a track car as well!
