    I can't think of a title...

    So heres my story..

I've always wanted to own a 24v e30. My first e30 was a stock 325i auto tragic. Sad I know.
I was determined to own one, specifically as s5x e30. I've been a lurker on here for some time now and have been hoarding parts for my "one day e30"

A few months down the road my timing belt snapped and destroyed the head. Didn't want to deal with it so sold it and bought myself an e36 DD.

A few more months went by, and after saving my pennies I was finally able to take the plunge in the 24 valve e30 world. I was really looking into buying one that was already swapped. Me being 22 years old with no mechanical experience and no garage, swapping one myself wasn't looking to pleasant.

    But then this happened….

s50 swapped e30 that wasn't finished and owner began parting it out. Drove 4 hours to look at her, and after not being able to hear her run I decide to walk away, very disappointed.

A few MORE months went by
I did some contemplating on life, and decided F$#% it. I'm going to build myself an e30. Called the owner of the s50'ed e30, haggled a bit, and drove 4 hours to pick her up. The owner removed some parts prior to me arriving, so we had to haggle some more ;D

All in all, I only paid for the s50.
But I got s50/zf,m5 clutch, short shifter kit, ecu tuned with trm chip, the whole rolling shell, and a trunk full of parts. :D

Not bad at all. It may be a little hard work building it yourself but the pride of knowing YOU made the car what it is, is well worth it.

Agreed. Thats sort of why I decided to build one instead of buy one. That and I could afford to learn a few new things along the way.

Time to build a carport. Some 4 x 4's and some lexan covering so your car has some protection.:)

          Good idea.
As long as my landlord gives me the ok, consider it done.

What you don't see is the 4-5 jack stands almost at every jack point, with concrete slabs to support them.
Cinder blocks were just wedged in for that extra safety feature ;D
I know most of you are cringing at this. But trust me I couldn't agree more. Part of why I didn't want to build one was because the no driveway/garage issue.

put a rim under there, I've had a car slip off the jack luckily the rim was underneath the car.

                            I like to live dangerously.

But thats the best its going to get. I have 6 jack stands under her with support and don't have access to a garage or driveway. She's on the grass, deal with it.

                            Anyway….
                            Purple Mtech anyone?

This is not M-Tech. This is euro "Design Edition" fabric from the late touing models '91-'94. Nothing to get excited about, but quite rare in the US. :-D
