    Newbie questions, HELP!

Hey guys, my name is Ajii. I recently bought a 1986 325e and I'm in love with the car. I'm coming from a e46 platform so I understand some of what is going on mechanical wise but I'm still in the process of learning how things work.

The car needs a lot of work done. The car currently has a bunch of mechanical and electrical problems. I bought a few maintenance parts from ECS tuning (Timing belt, water pump, T-Stat, fluids, etc.) and I came across a bunch of wires just hanging around not connected to anything. I'm trying to figure out where they belong. I'll be uploading pictures as I tackle different jobs around the car. If you guys can help me out, I will really appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

If you guys need any other detailed pictures of anything please let me know! I'd be more than happy to upload more pictures to help solve the problems.

The pictures below are from the front of the engine, right where all the coolant hoses connect together.

Looks like someone disconnected the coolant temp sensor and installed a aftermarket unit, and looks like the aftermarket unit has failed too.
