    Boosted M20, Random Hiccup/Misfire

    hey r3v,
    curious if anyone else has had this issue with late model m20's
    using 2.7l block
    885 head
    DME 173

    it did this before i turbo'd but now its just annoying

    starts and drives fine, once the misfire happens, never happens again untill next cold start

    cold start, idles fine, i give it a few minutes to warm up, then first time acceleration, not WOT, say 40% throttle the engine has one big hiccup/misfire some times a big flame out the exhaust and then accels normally, this only happens once, warm or cold, just the first pull after starting

    new wires,plugs,cap,rotor,fresh rebuild of the engine and turbo

    im thinking electrical, was leaning towards Crank Sensor but i figured that would make it miss all the time instead of just once...

    any ideas?

    This could be a flaky CPS, flaky engine harness, bad DME, or simply a lousy tune.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      well i doubt its my tune, it did it before i boosted it, and ive replaced my harness and dme, im going to buy a brand new factory cps to rule that out...

        What kind of exhaust do you have? Could have a restriction of some sort?

          I had this issue before, but it was only in the first time i drive the car after it warms up, it happens once and then all are fine, it was something wrong in the tune, btw, what is your ems?
