Stalling at at most red lights.

it seems like half the red lights i atop at the car will idle for 2 seconds normal dive down to around 200 rpm go back to 800 then go to 0 and shut off.

Car: 1985 325e

Intake leaks would be the first suspect. Have a shop run a smoke test.

The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

What they said, plus I had this issue once and it was a result of a broken motor mount IIRC.
