    86 325e overheating issue.

So I was on my way to flagstaff, and driving up the mountain I turned my AC on(which works fine every time) and I was going about 95-100mph which was probably a bad idea to run the AC at that speed, well after the second uphill my temp gauge started rising and I pulled over and it went all the way red and the car stopped, I got out and popped the hood it was smoking everywhere and out of the spark plugs, there was green fluid all over the engine bay like it had exploded everywhere I believe it was coolant, and so now my car turns on and runs but overheats after about 20 minutes of driving, thanks guys.

Your HG is blown and you have air in your coolant system as a result.

First, stop driving it. If you have any mechanical ability, you should be able to do the work yourself without too many problems. Get a new HG from Pelican Parts or autohausaz, new head bolts, new intake+exhaust gaskets, and why not a new timing belt and water pump while you're at it. Have your head checked out to be sure it hasn't warped, and can be put right if it has. If the engine shut off while you were driving it, there's a strong possibility the head is warped. Easier to just put a good used 200 head back on. If you do the work, it'll cost $300-500-ish, depending on what has to be done to the head, if anything; but if you take it to a mechanic, it'll wind up costing more than the car is likely worth.

Thanks for the help guys, yeah I'm definitely not driving it but it does run, and I just changed the timing belt about 2 weeks ago, I just ordered a head gasket kit along with a water pump, this is my first project car so I'm learning as I go and YouTube has been my best friend lol.
