I have owned this car since 2006 originally purchased to replace my 84’ Targa as a daily driver. After driving for a year or two I decided I loved the car but wanted more performance. That is when I found Dwight of Zionsville Motorsports and the Orca conversion. Dwight was instrumental in the entire project providing engine, transmission, and diff as well as all of the other misc parts required. Dwight also convinced me that the steering rack conversion would make the car much more responsive. While performing the transplant I knew I had to upgrade everything else to handle the increase in power. It took well over a year and plenty of cash to put it together but the result is a wonderfully well balanced machine with plenty of power. The best part – it’s still all BMW!
I am selling the car because I have been working on an advanced degree and running a small business so I have not had much time to devote to working on much less driving it. It has been driven a few times a year for the past few years but spends way too much sitting in the garage.
The engine, tranny, and diff came from an 95 e36 sedan with 95K mi. The chassis has approx 110K mi (the odometer broke around 95K mi when doing conversion).
