Holy hell....anyone with a set of Startecs needs to save a copy of this thread for insurance purposes.

That is just incredible, these are basically N.O.S., and as hard as it is to believe, likely a good deal at that price!

GLWS, and can you post some pics of the car?

Amazing example of the darker smoked version. Rare find for someone not looking for the "pinkish" Startecs.

This isn't aimed to you but since you brought it up, here's my take...

That kind of thinking is what's wrong with the NLA aftermarket part market for our cars specifically and the car enthusiast scene as a whole. Just because someone can ask as much as these may go for doesn't mean the startec market needs to go up. As new needs to be at least double a set that has cracking or spidering on the lens. Because there is a handful of fantastic pieces out there doesn't mean the rest of the sun faded, corner missing worn units need a premium because of what they "used" to be.

Tail lights in this instance but body kits and interior bits also fall into this rant.

I sold a completely fractured set of startecs last month for $600 to a local guy who begged me to take them off ebay. So you're saying these should be double? Not sure I follow what you mean. Why wouldn't a seller of cracked startecs mark them up if he can? They are worth what the market will bear right?

Pretty much. It's no different then real estate. When demand is high for an area prices will go up. Not sure why anyone would sell anything for less than what it is worth.
