SOLD
I have a 1985 BMW 325e for sale. There were no ES models in 85, but it has sport seats, electric windows/sunroof and 13button obc. It's a solid car all around. Details below-
The good about this car:
I average 30mpg in this car consistently. I decided not to mess with the engine because of this. Everything about the engine and drivetrain is completely stock.
The suspension is gone through and upgraded. It is sitting on German Engineering coilovers and some camber plates (can't remember the brand). Newer bilstein shocks included.
The wheels are 15x8 with an estimated -10 (yes negative) offset. I have the suspension just high enough so it doesn't rub the tires. It can go lower, but will need smaller tires if you don't want it to rub.
Interior is quite clean and rare. The car was originally black/gray cloth material (not houndstooth) which is still present on the rear seat and door cards. However the front seats have been redone to have plaid centers (very similar to the euro e30 option). The driver's seat will not recline, but all other functions work. Shift boot is there and is the same material as the front seats.
Speakers have been upgraded to Pioneers 5 1/4 up front and 6x9 in the rear with a Sony head unit. Sounds quite nice.
Timing belt was JUST replaced this past week.
Now on to the needs for this car:
Depending on how picky you are, the needs may or may not be a big deal but I will outline them either way.
The a/c is inop. There's no freeon in the system. All components are there, but would need a leak test and recharge to work. Blower motor works and the heater works flawlessly.
The brake lining light on the dash sometimes comes on over bumps. Likely a loose connection somewhere, I'll poke my head around when I get some time.
Oil level light occasionally comes on due to a bad sensor. I check the oil every other day and it doesn't lose any.
The paint has seen better days. There is a bit of clear coat peeling on the top of the passenger fender and door. The rest of the car is decent. Few dents around as expected from a 29 year old car.
This car is perfect for someone who wants to get into an e30. Looks cool while getting 30+ mpg and handles like it's on rails.
Price is $2500 firm, no less. No trades.
