Hello everyone, I have a 76 BMW 2002, with a m20 swap from a 91 e30, just about a week ago my car started Idling right bellow the 3k mark, my first thought was the icv, so I cleaned it out with carb cleaner, that did nothing, I checked for vac leaks, nothing there, so I purchased a new icv, and still no luck, I'm a little stumped now, any suggestions

I have an M20 cabrio and when I got it the idle and tach was flaring up and down and when in neutral. it would flare up into the 2k range and bounce around. once it was in drive it would stop but only because of the power to the drive line.
I swapped out the dme and the problem stopped. Check to see if hasn't gone bad.
