NYC: 1989 BMW 325i 5sp Coupe Alpine White

Now that I've moved to NYC, the car just sits, and it makes me :(.

I'm regretfully going to sell it, it needs a better home than to be sitting on the side of the street 24/7.

I bought this car in Minnesota in September of 2012. The previous owner said the car was from Arizona I believe. I have a clean and clear MN title in hand.

    Interior

Odometer stuck at around 250k. I've driven this car cross country multiple times without any issues, but one that has just started happening is a small but annoying clutch/brake fluid leak. I seem to have to top it up ever couple weeks now. Haven't had the time to investigate where the leak is coming from. The cross country trips were from Charleston, SC to Minneapolis, MN back and forth at least 4 to 5 times. And then the last long trip it had was from Charleston, SC to NYC, which was this past July.

The front seats are the IS sport seats. They are not in perfect condition, but are not bad.

    Typical dash cracks.

    Euro clock.

    Short shifter.

Cruise control doesn't work (neither does ABS). Have been meaning to investigate, but haven't. Not the fuse. Previous owner said he cut the lines for the ABS sensors or something like that? It hasn't bothered me.

AC was pulled but I have everything to replace it and upgrade to R134 minus the compressor and 1 hose. I have the dryer, condenser, valve, 1 hose. You can check out these parts if you want, they are in the trunk. Basically I started to collect the parts necessary to fix and upgrade the AC because it was hot as hell in SC.

    Body/Exterior

When I purchased the car it had a few cosmetic issues on the passenger side, looks like someone slightly side swiped it once before or something. Basically a dent on the front passenger fender, a scrape along the passenger door, and a dent on the rear passenger fender. Shown in (upcoming) photos. It has original paint, so there are random chips here and there, it's not perfect, my plan was to fix those passenger side body issues and then repaint the whole thing.

It also has euro trim that I installed new right around when I bought it. I don't have the old sidemarkers.

99% rust free (there are a couple surface rust spots where the paint was chipped, nothing major or rusting through, no rust in the typical areas under the trunk).

It will come with DDM Tuning HID 55w kit with 6000k bulbs, but they aren't installed (converted back to normal bulbs) because one of the ballasts recently took a sh*t. They are cheap though, just haven't taken the time to place an order.

    Plastic IS lip from eBay.

    Plastic eyeliners from eBay.

    Black plastic grill from eBay.

Will include the Yakima racks that are on it.

For some reason the white reverse lights don't work. Never investigated it besides checking that the bulbs weren't blown.

Front valance has some scrapes/scuffs/dents, it's not perfect.

    Engine

    Stock M20.

Have had zero issues besides the typical rough idle on cold start sometimes. Just give it some gas for a few seconds and it's perfect. Haven't ever had to add oil, replaced the oil ever 3,000 miles or so.

This past summer replaced the throttle cable with a brand new one from Pelican.

    Paperwork

I bought it with zero paperwork, sadly. I don't have any history info on it.

    Drivetrain

The only thing I did was add a LSD (4.10) basically right after I bought it.

    Suspension/Wheels/Tires

It has the yellow Bilstein sport shocks and struts with Eibach Pro Kit springs.

Tires have plenty of tread and are currently equipped for winter with General Altimax Arctic 195/60 R15 88Q.

    Things it could use:

The next big thing I was planning to do was a timing belt and water pump replacement. No idea when the last time it was done.

    New brake pads.

    Fix slow brake/clutch fluid leak.

    Photos

Sucks that I didn't get to clean/detail the car, so it's pretty dirty. That's another reason I'm selling, no time and no real place to clean/detail it. She cleans up nice though!

    Price

    $5,000 OBO – PM me.

I never know what these are going for anymore. Every time I look at prices they are either outrageous or a steal, so just make me an offer.

If you have any more questions, just ask. I may remember a thing or two and add it, but I think I've covered everything.
