Finally swapped out the diff on my S50 E30 M3 Swap

Went from a 4.10LSD to a 3.25LSD. It is worlds better. Just thought I would let you guys know ;D

4.10 with the ZF was just too race car for the street/hwy even for me....

I don't want to imagine what that's like! I had a 3.46/zf with my S50 and it was awful above 60. Ran like a bat out of hell though when I wasn't changing gears.

    now have a 3.25

I had the 4.10 in mine when i first swapped it, it was totally worthless!

Running a 2.93 now but wish it had a 3.25.

See a big jump in fuel economy? I'm still running m42 vert gearing, barely getting 20 mpg 90% highway around 70-75.

Obviously, transmission gearing has a ton to do with it, but I don't know what youre running. I think a 2.93 would be a bit sluggish for me. Maybe if the car was turboed or supercharged, maybe. But N/A, I would guess its a bit sluggish. My motor is a full bolt-on s50, so a stock s50 is a completely different power level. If youre relatively stock, switch to a 3.25 and i'm sure you will agree its money well spent. I would think the 2.93 is pretty desirable as well, so it might not cost you any money.

Yes, gas mileage is SIGNIFICANTLY improved, especially on the highway
