    1987 BMW 325i Convertible, 5 spd

Selling my 1987 325i convertible for $6,000. I'm located in Charlotte NC. The car runs great - has always been garaged. The odometer has 189,000 but stopped working about 18 months ago - since then it's probably been driven another 1,000 at the most (one of 3 cars I own, but none of them are driven much as I work from home).

the engine was replaced in 2009 with a low mileage engine
in 2012 I did a lot of restoration to it:
    new leather upholstery
    new convertible top and straps
    new back seat headrests
new paint (was delphin grey, it's now monaco blue)

There's no rust or body damage. Never had an accident. Clean title.

The car has had two owners - was kept in the garage with several other BMWs by a local attorney for about 20 years - who gave it to my mechanic to restore in 2008. My mechanic did an overhaul on it before selling it to me. It's had too many things done to it to mention - new battery (recent), tires, alternator, shocks, struts, clutch slave and master, etc.

Occasionally the check engine light comes on or the turn signals don't work - but most of the time I drive it everything is perfect. It is a really fun ride, a great looking car - and a reasonable price.

Looks good. Armrest is whack. That leather is nice though. Real leather? Who did the work?

Of all that work...those front bumper trim pieces are ashy.

Yes real leather. I bought the leather from a custom shop in the midwest that was recommended to me and I used a local guy to do the install - C. Frederick. Yes, the bumper pieces are worn looking... and the chrome could be really nice restored. Didn't get to those yet. I may end up keeping the car - any recs on how to do the chrome? They have a 87 convertible at the BMW museum in Munich - it's amazing. Made me long for shiny chrome.

I think you have a great car and should generate a lot of interest, though vert season is coming to a close and may not be great timing. I for one prefer cool fall nights, top down, heated seats on.

The bumpers have a very heavy anodization. They need to be sanded down it seems to be polished to a chrome like finish. A few articles about the process are on the net.
