    1986 325i M technic for sale

Here is my 1986 Bmw 325i convertible on offer. It is the E 30 body with the 6 cylinder and manual gearbox. Everything works on the car and it drives very nicely paint is in good condition -no rust. Heated seats that are leather and are nicely worn but not split or cracked. The top has been replaced and is perfect and it has recent good paint. The car has a nice aftermarket stainless exhaust has 177km on the clock. The brakes are new all around and the rubber is very good. The radiator and fan clutch have been recently replaced as well as the battery. This car is an M - technic car an is a German delivery car that has been imported. I discovered it through the VIN and they are relatively rare.
It does not have the correct bumper but it is still available from Bmw. The car is perfectly serviceable as it is. Please call and I will fill in the details. $8500

This is not true. someone slapped m badges on the car.
it also has a US front end. that that was never in the any if the mtechnik packages. The car is a very early 87 325i convertible.

Willing to bet that you're incorrect on this one Eric.

Look at the car more closely. You will see that everything on the car is in fact European spec.

      Note:

      -real euro cluster
      -euro clock
      -euro rear filler
      -euro grilles on drivers side
-mtech wheel (even though it's mt 2)
      -euro rear fog button
-no 3rd brake light on trunk
-then note how there is a schwarz front US valence, US bumper, and pass. side US grille.

The most logical reasoning here is that the car was involved in a front end collision at some point, therefore its front end is North American spec.

My old roommate has a true Euro 323i baur. Everything on it is euro spec, but just like this guy, the front end is DB/US spec due to a collision.

Dat tax.... especially for not even having the correct front bumper.... with an obvious prior accident in it's history

Tho it might be legit as not only the euro cluster, but also has rear fog light switch, which it not common on US market e30's.

That's what I was thinking. OP should mention the nearly $2000 worth if wheels in his ad.

not saying you are wrong or right but that I have all those items on my "euro spec" cabrio...plus euro bumpers, euro valance, etc etc. It was originally a US spec car. These things can easily be swapped over. It does not have the side repeaters that euro cars have behind the front wheel, so I'm assuming that the front fenders also got replaced.

The 325i emblem on the decklid seems to be too far in. Don't recall ever seeing an m sport cabrio. We need the VIN really

I never said it wasn't originally a euro car. just that it has a us bumper and black valence, which means it was in a front end accident at one point.

the issue is that there was no such cars as what the OP is calling his car. this was a thing done in 86/87 by dealers. there are tons of cars here in the bay area that are 325ES/IS with M badges slapped on. deals saw the m535i and added the m badge to 3 series cars. this just confuses people.
while the fact remains this is nothing more than normal euro early vert. this car is not an mtech1 or mtech2 car. it is not an m-car. someone added late on the mtech2 steering wheel.

I am gonna go with the opinion of the guy with 8,000+ posts instead of the guy with just one (this FS ad). Thanks for the tip on this one

My neighbor had an 86 M-Technic Euro 325i that he brought back from Germany when he was discharged from the Air Force. It had the full early factory M-Technic body kit and rear trunklid spoiler, but it didn't have a single ///M badge on it. He ultimately had to have the car crushed on order of the Federal Government when he failed to have it federalized. We first removed the Euro bumpers and the body kit which he later sold locally to a fellow club member.

OP's car is just regular Euro cabriolet with a couple of M stickers on it. Nuthin M about it.

Edit - found my old pictures we took of it:
