FS: 1991 318IS. Bastardized? A little. But you can save her.

    SOLD

    Hi guys.

I bought a 91 318is not too long ago to daily drive. Now I've got three bimmers, an Audi, and a Jeep - and the driveway is spilling cars into the street. I need to sell one - and honestly, this is the only one I'm not seriously attached to. So up for sale she goes. $3900 or best offer.

I know it's been a little bastardized. I've been working on saving her, slowly... but with 2 full project cars and a couple DD's that have their issues, I just plain don't have time.

    Details:

    1991 318IS. 180xxx miles. Smooth shifting getrag 5speed.

I love this little e30, it's lots of fun. The steering is precise and the braking is firm. I bought a new car and don't have room or time for the 318is anymore. I would not hesitate to drive this to California tomorrow.

It's in great overall condition, but I'll highlight that of course, the car does need some minor work. The previous owner painted it flat black via duplicolor cans. Yes, it's chipping in some places but again - overall the car is clean and straight. I'm sure that a good sanding and paint job would look amazing with very little body work. No accidents, only minor dings here and there.

It had sport seats in it, but the PO changed the drivers seat is a SPARCO Sprint (I think), and the drivers seat belt is a 4 point CORBEAU seat belt. The passenger seat has some pretty serious tearing in the seat.

It is lowered on raceland suspension. Which sucks. BUT - I have purchased a set of H&R OEM Sport springs along with e90 drop hats. This should provide a nice looking drop with a smooth ride while still looking great. I have not installed it yet, but I'll include it with the car.

Brand new tires mounted and balanced.

Also has 15" VW weaves on it now. I bought the car with XXR JUNK, and couldn't stand the ride. Ended up finding these weaves in good condition, so I swooped them. They fit great, and if it's a concern, I have 10mm spacers to go along with them if you want a more flush look.

Alpine stereo, Kenwood 300w amp, and Alpine 10" sub

Engine runs GREAT. Very healthy with no issues other than a small misfire at idle after she's sat for two or three weeks. The misfire clears up after a couple minutes of idling, and is nonexistent otherwise. It has had the timing chain tensioner replaced less than 10k miles ago, and a new lower oil pan installed around the same time frame.

PO had a shop make a custom 2.5" exhaust. It's factory manifold to factory cat, then 2.5" piping to the thrush muffler - which is loud, but fun. I'm going to repeat. LOUD.

The blower motor is out of balance, or missing a couple fins and needs replaced. It still moves good air, but noisy. On setting 1, it's not bad at all -barely noticeable. Both A/C and heat work great.

The lower control arm bushings need to be replaced at some point. They aren't totally shot, but every now and then I get a shimmy under hard braking, indicating they are on the way out.

Front right strut sounds to be blown, but there is no bouncing from it, so I'm not sure.

I'm sure there are lots I've not covered, some things I've missed, etc... but if you have questions please ask. I will be honest about it's condition.

    Thanks for your time.

Nice car. I'm surprised you haven't been given an offer yet. I'd do it myself, but you're car is out of my budget. GLWS
