    Quick question: 24v engine position

Does somebody know which engine arm/mounts do I need to move the engine furthest to the back? Im currently running e36 arms and e28 green mounts, also running a diesel fan clutch with aluminum rad and want more space to be on the safe side

    Thanks

The akg swap mounts put the motor as far back as I've seen, much more room than with e28 mounts and the motor doesn't move around as much either.

We also make swap mounts that place the motor in the correct position to maintain proper drivetrain alignment.

Farther back than e36 arms/e28 mounts?

Our mounts are used with e36 arms. I am not sure about how far back the motor sits compared to the e28 mounts. You could always notch the bolt holes on the subframe to slide the engine back. Just make sure both sides are even and straight.

And they have a great chance of failing if they are made anything like your guibos or the rest of your products.
The best part is that you guys wont answer when the customer tries to call, or if you do you'll make up some nice story as to why it's not your fault.

OP Stick with a quality brand such as Condor or AKG.

Seeing that you have placed 4 separate orders with us in April 2013, I am very surprised that you would say these things. I searched our emails and couldn't find anything from you. We warranty our parts for life, so if you had a problem with something you could have emailed us and we would send you new parts at no cost to you. The older aluminum guibos are finicky to install but the new full polyurethane ones are much easier to work with. How is the rear bushing kit that you purchased from us doing? I bet you had no problems with that. You also purchased our old e28 style swap mounts which we stopped selling because they weren't angled. We redesigned them and now offer the best swap mounts on the market. Send me an email explaining your issue and I will see what we can do to make it right.

                  LOL
That was a friend of mine. Definitely no Revshift on my vehicles!
I appreciate you rudely calling him by they way!
So you'll send him a replacement guibo? And driveshaft? And transmission? And no, the deflection in your "poly" rear subframe bushings actually cracked his diff cover!
I don't believe in email for warranty issues, every time i've called your company the list of excuses i got ranged from "i'm going to the hardware store to get the last parts now!" (3 months after he placed the order), to "it will ship out tomorrow" (shipped out 1 month from then).
'Best swap mounts on the market' is a pretty hefty claim your making there! Better then the material AKG is using in the mounts that comes from Group N factory rally cars?

If you would like to get in touch with me, there is a button on this forum called PM that stands for private message. It's a way for you to privately get in touch with other members on the forum. Much easier then digging through emails and calling wrong numbers...

I called the number that YOU gave us when YOU placed 4 orders with us. The reason I called is to find out what the issue was and offer to make it right. Luckily, I got a hold of your friend who actually had the parts. He told me that he had an issue with the flex disc. We do not believe in taking money and not giving our customers what they payed for so I am sending him a set of 24V swap mounts as a warranty replacement item for the flex disc. It is the best we can do since he no longer needs a new flex disc. His new mounts are already in the mail.

I do not want to get into a big internet fight over this but I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about with the "hardware store" thing. We make all of our parts in-house and we don't buy any of our supplies from the hardware store. I talked to your friend for a good amount of time today and he said nothing about a broken transmission or cracked diff cover. He told me the only issue he had was with the flex disc. So please don't make those claims. Let your friend speak for himself.

Also, the other company you are talking about does not make their own motor mounts or bushings. They outsource them. And they do not have a lifetime warranty.

If anyone ever has an issue with any of our parts please let me know via email, phone call, PM, letter, anything. I am John, the owner of Revshift, and I will make sure you get what you pay for. No exceptions.

The issue with the flex disc is that with about 1 month of normal street driving it catastrophically failed. Breaking the driveshaft, denting the tranny tunnel, and cracking the transmission bellhousing.
I think you are sadly mistaken about these other claims you are making, and im not sure if you do in fact use parts from your local hardware or if that was just some story that was made up on the spot. All i know is that I have had a terrible experience both in the quality of your parts that i installed on my friends car, and with the time frame it took to receive them after you guys got my money. I also know that you guys have a terrible reputation for both of those things which is clearly depicted on R3V and many other forums in the BMW community.
Not trying to start an internet fight. Just trying to inform the OP that their are superior products to be had on the market.
Again, feel free to PM me and i will gladly discuss with you over the phone my experience with your company.

You probably talked to a guy that worked here about a year and a half ago who I fired for being a pos. For that, I apologize. Hiring him was one of the biggest mistakes that I have ever made. I have restructured Revshift quite a bit since then and now I personally handle most of the communication with our customers.

The quality of our parts is above our competitors. I can prove that with technical data and real life testing. We make our polyurethane parts with high quality raw materials from a couple of the worlds major chemical companies. Our parts are not outsourced and not made from cheap low end materials like some of the other polyurethane parts on the market. This is why we warranty all of our parts for life. Now, things happen and parts break. This stands true for all parts from all companies, no matter what. In that case, we replace the parts and provide any tech advice that we can to prevent any further issues.

We have been continually improving our products. There is only so much testing that we can do and we rely on our customers to inform us of any issues that they may encounter. If we can pinpoint an issue we will correct it asap. The flex disc has been updated several times in the past year and a half. We no longer make the frames from aluminum. They are now full polyurethane which has shown better test results than the old aluminum version.

Not that I have even run my Turbo M50B28 conversion yet, but I can confirm that the new Revshift mounts dropped in no worries. I undid the nuts on the E28 535i mount, jack up the motor, removed, drop in new poly mount. Repeat for the other side. It did not move the motor back one jot but may have moved it slightly toward the LHS, or possibly a tad lower as well. Oh, using E36 arms.
