FEELER: FS, M50 swapped E30: SOCAL

Things have been changing lately and I'm not really able to have two cars and am not overly thrilled about daily driving the E30.

So this is just a feeler but I'm entertaining the idea of selling my car as I'm concerned with getting it registered in CA. Looking for $5000 OBO

My Car specs. It's a 91 318is with an M50NV, G240, 4:10lsd. unknown actual mileage but the carfax last showed around 160K a few years ago and I've probably put 25K since then. Odometer does work now but at some point the cluster was changed to an early one and currently shows 112K. It's a quite clean with only one spot of rust on the rear valance. Records show it seem to be an EU car till 96 then was brought over and spent most of it's life in the south. I had it for 2 years in Ohio and it was always garage and rarely driven in the winters. Paint is all original and while it looks fantastic from a few feet, it does show it's age in others and has polished so many times that it's getting thin on a few edges.
It does unfortunately have a salvage title due to a minor collision from the PO, no structural damage. VERY clean black vinyl sports with only one small crack on the drivers side bolster. The dash does have some decent cracks but it's never bothered me much.

    As it sits currently

    -M50NV (402 DME)
    -G240
-4:10lsd with new poly bushing. Locks up great, no noise
    -Bilstein sports w/ H&R springs
    -UUC SSK
    -momo steering wheel
    -TRM C1's 15X8
-some high flow cat to a dyna-max muffler
    - K&N filter
    -condor PS delete plate
    -thule roof rack
-sparco strut bar and unknown rear bar
    -us plate filler
    -smoked tails
-E36 console, arm rest and cup holders

When I did the swap I took the engine down pretty far and replaced most every gasket except the head gasket. The swap has about 12K trouble free miles on it currently.

    I replaced:
    -intake manifold gaskets,
    -TB gasket
    -Injector 0-rings
    - oil pan gasket
    -water pump
    -brand new alternator
    -valve cover gasket
    -engine mounts (E28 green mounts)
    -trans mounts
-new OE Sachs clutch (for M42) and pressure plate
    -new slave
-new euro 320 shift linkage and bushings
    -input shaft seal on trans
    -guibo
    -CSB
    -CPS
    -wiring adapter from Nando
    -idler pulley and belt
-trans and dif fluid flushed and replaced with Mobile1 fluids

Also in the last 3 years all of the brakes have been done, new wheel bearings up front and new half shafts in the rear. The car is solid and runs fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across the country (again).

The interior I would give a 7/10. It's not perfect (mostly the dash) but it's in far better shape than many E30's.

The exterior was fairly beat when I bought the car. It had front end damage.

This is the day I bought it.

The hood was replaced as was the bumper, grills and lights but the fenders are OE and both show minimal signs of the impact still. Also the trunk lid was replaced with a non-spoiler one which oddly came from the same parts car as the hood (2 years apart), so strange. The exterior I'd give a 6/10.

Known issues...the steering flex joint could use replaced as its a tad loose causing some chatter in the steering wheel occasionally. Does not have rear speakers. Rear sub frame bushings could use done at some point. Coil packs are old, cracked but epoxied up and work fine but could use replaced. Fuel filter is new but the lines are getting old and you get a slight leak on start up. A/C removed from the firewall forward.

Also note I am located in Southern California. The car is currently registered in Ohio and has not been smogged. The charcoal canister is not hooked up but really aside from that and possibly needing E36 cats, I don't see why it wouldn't pass.

    As it currently sits.

I will get some more pictures tomorrow and interior pictures. Simply testing the waters to see what is out there. It's a clean, well done swap with no real issues. I'm aware the salvage title hurts the value but I'd still think I'm in the area of $5500 or so that's the realistic trade value I'd be interest in.

PM with offers, the more info the better.

    Thanks!
    Nick
