    Feeler FS: 1988 325IX

Edit: No longer for sale. I'm leaning towards keeping it.

Here's the story on the IX I have:

    http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=339384

    1988 325IX
    Metallic Black w/grey leather interior
    153,XXX miles
Sport seats, front mud flaps, etc. The 88s were all fully optioned.

Car has been sitting for +/- 14 years. Everything I know is in the thread above.

I have no idea on value but know the rules are to list a price. Is it a potential driver or a great parts car? That's for someone else to decide...

I'll ask $2,000 knowing I'll likely be offered less.

Car is on my trailer, and I would consider delivering within a few hundred miles of Warren, VT for round trip fuel costs plus a little something for my time/energy.

definitely worth more than 2k if it doesn't have much rust. I believe any iX is a potential driver unless it has chassis damage. you can probably add value by cleaning the interior and engine bay. taking the front seats out makes it soo much easier and you would want to clean under the seats anyway. All you need is a spotbot, shopvac and disinfectant wipes or car wash soap (works wonders on cleaning the plastics and seats). the spotbot is good but it leaves the carpet damp.

Thanks barbierij! There is some rust on the left rear quarter, prety common on E30s from what I've been told. I pulled the battery tray and no rust underneath. I haven't been underneath the car, so I can't speak to the condition of the undercarriage. The rest of the body is in pretty decent shape.

I did do some interior clean up, and the front seats and back seat bottom are out of the car and cleaned up. I started to take the carpet out, but ran out of time before the weather got too cold and snowy. I can't realistically do any more cleaning until spring thaw.

My motivation has dropped a bit as the Audi 4000 Turbo I wanted sold tonight. That being said, I still won't have time or good weather to do anything with the IX until spring, and will likely then be focused on getting my hill climb race car ready for the season. Selling the IX would free up a little cash for another project that might come along, or go into new tires and rebuilding a spare transmission for the race car.

PMs replied to. Still a "feeler" sale situation, as I know this could be a great project/driver if I can find the time and energy to put into it.

I would be super interested in this car! I had an 88 ix about 15 years ago, I've wanted one back ever since. I'm in need of a project as well. Of course, we're at complete opposite ends of the country, but maybe someone knows of a shipping source?

        I'm sending a pm.

I don't have a build thread on vwvortex. That's where I found the car. Bought it as a VRT with stock interior. It was slammed on koni coilovers, and had ridiculous camber. Hardly driveable between the torques steer and bottoming out.

I fixed the alignment and ride height, then a year later had the car caged and added H&R coilovers.
