    Motor Mount problems

I'm mid-M50 swap, and have the green funky-shaped engine mounts from the e28 535i.
The passenger side sits nice and flush with both the motor mount arm and the subframe, but the diver's side leans outwards so that it's about 4-5mm from being flush with the subframe.

Has anyone else run into this issue?
I found a post on e30tech from someone that had the same problem, but he ended up just torquing them down as best he could and calling it a day. Is that my only option?

Here's his pic. Mine looks exactly the same in terms of how it sits (i have different mounts obviously - he's using AKG i think):

Had same exact issue with my S52 swap, I slotted the holes towards the motor in e36 aluminum arms on both sides and it did the trick. (holes that engine mount studs goes through)

Great, thanks! No issues with trans alignment after that? Currently mine's sitting a little closer to the passenger side of the tunnel

No, no alignment issue with tranny. GL

Same thing here, I ended up drilling out the arms and now the tranny/shifter sit to the passenger side a bit. I re-bent the shifter a bit more than I had originally.
I do not have the swap completed so I cannot comment on how it will pan out, the drive shaft and CSB all bolted up ok though.
              Good luck

what i had to do was loosen the bottom bolts on both motor mounts so there was room to angle the motor mount into the motor mount arm. then lowered the motor onto the mounts and tighten the bolts back up. not ideal but zero problems so far. will be switching to condor mounts that are made for this swap soon.

They didn't still get completely flush on both sides, did they?

Why dont more people use the e34 525i cylinder shaped mounts? You just grind the alignment nub off, bolt, and go. They work great and cost like 10 bucks each.

My motor on e34 mounts. Barely any movement at all after 12000 miles and they look just fine.
