    FS: r3v’d 1991 318is & swap-ready S50, aka DRIFT KIT SOLD

I had my E30 for 7 years before someone r3v’d it, guess that’s a pretty good run but it still makes me :curse:. I had just bought the S50 for the swap before it happened.

Car was hit while I was stopped at a red light... probably a 20-25mph impact. Insurance totaled it out in November & I purchased it back. A friend of mine was going to buy it but decided it’s not the right time so I'm selling it here. I’m selling the car and motor separately but I can cut a (slightly) better deal with you if you want both.

Located in Portland, OR. Prices are as-is, where-is. If you can arrange shipping that’s fine with me.

    THE CAR
    • 1991 318is with 198K miles
    • Alpine White II over black leather Sports from a vert. Rear seat is stock perforated vinyl. All of it is in great shape, no tears. Front seats had new shocks installed a couple years back.
    • M42 engine, trans & driveline are all in great shape. “Mess under the intake” was redone not too long ago so there are no vac leaks. Diff is the original small case 4.10 LSD w/new bushing (no leaks).
    • 15” BBS euroweaves in excellent shape. Tires are BFGs in front with 30-40% tread left, rears are new Kumhos
    • Paint is intact but not super pretty, zero rust. Body except for rear damage is very straight.
    • Suspension was completely redone in 2010. Bilstein shocks + Vogtland springs, drops hats, M3 front CABs, every bushing replaced with either OE or poly. E36 steering rack & SS brake lines installed at the same time. I have a spreadsheet with all the parts if anyone wants more details.

    Other stuff worth mentioning…
    • AC works
    • ODO works
    • 2 sets of black leather door cards are included - 1 set is 7/10 (installed), the other is 9.5/10
    • Sony head unit & premium sound system from a 325i w/amp delete. Wired for a sub & amp (not included).
    • US ellipsoids
    • Done last year: new front & rear roundels, outdoor temp sensor (6-button OBC works), 2 new side moldings, replaced steering guibo, replaced front swaybar bushings.
    • A Sparco strut bar and box of spares is also included, with 2 brake calipers, AWII touch-up paint, new OEM air & oil filters and misc nuts & bolts (some are extra locknuts from the suspension job).

    DAMAGE
    • Rear passenger-side corner damage as shown. Car is plated & registered til next month… I’ll provide paperwork from my insurance company for renewal as branded/salvage by the new owner.
    • Rear taillight is gone, trunk closes but does not latch. Fender is pushed into the tire which makes it undrivable for more than a short distance. It looks like the fender took the hit as opposed to the frame. With some cutting or a sledgehammer the fender could be pushed off the tire & driven further but I’ll leave it to the new owner if that’s what you want to do.
    • The body is crumpled around the battery but it still works. The wreck caused a short as the battery will drain if left connected. I have it disconnected & on a battery tender.
    • I’ve been starting & moving the car weekly to keep the tires from flat spotting. It always starts & runs smooth.

I want to sell the car as a whole so it’s priced to move. It’s worth more than this is parts but I don’t want to mess with parting it or trying to fix the damage.

    Price: SOLD

    THE ENGINE

It’s a US-spec S50 from a 95 M3, already converted to install in an E30. I bought it from 318isbmw in Seattle late last year. His thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...&highlight=s50

Check the thread for details, but basically it’s an S50 that was installed in an 86 325e. So all the usual E30 swap stuff, like 525 oilpan & harness is already done. The transmission & driveline all the way back to the diff is also included, plus the radiator, intake, electric fan and e21 brake booster.

I bought the engine to install in my car, so I had been going through it to refresh anything that looked necessary. So above & beyond everything listed in 318isbmw’s thread, the following has been replaced over the last few months…
    • New oil pan gasket, sump & dipstick seals
    • Oil filter housing & line gaskets
    • Oil filter
    • Intake manifold gaskets
    • Tensioner pulley
    • Upper deflection pulley
    • Knock sensor (old one was cracked)

This stuff is new-in-box & ready to install
    • Valve cover gasket & seals
    • Spark plugs (PN 12129063428)
    • Flywheel bolts (PN 11222243051)
    • Also have a used E36 AC bracket & hoses to add AC. (pump not included)

Bring a hoist & truck and take all the S50 stuff for SOLD This setup is the easiest & cheapest way to get an S5x in your E30. I wouldn’t be selling it if mine didn’t get wrecked.

Please PM me if you’re interested or have any questions.

    Thanks, Kyle

If only you were 1500 miles closer to MN...

Bummer about the car, I'm sure you were/are pissed. Somebody r3v'd my 318is too, it hurts!

GLWS stuff, I hope it gets saved. Worth it for sure.

    Early models do it better.

Thanks man. Yeah it was extra lame that it happened right after I got the motor. But at least it wasn't installed yet.
