    Flat tow bar brackets......

Does anyone flat tow their e30? If so can you give me ideas of how you attached the brackets to the front of the car? I have an 88 but i guess this applies to metal or plastic bumper cars. Thanks in advance!

When I have had to tow an E30 I have rented one of the front wheel dolly thingee's from U-Haul. I would be hesitant to use any sort of clamp on tow bracket as I doubt you could find one that is E30 specific. I'm sure a custom tow bracket that connects to the frame could be implemented and that would be the only other thing I'd trust.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

...from attaching the skidplate, there's just not much structure ahead of the front
subframe. And even that's pretty light.

If you want something custom, I'm with Jim, you'd want to catch the subframe where the bolts
go up into the body. But that isn't going to be easy...

SIngle axle trailer still works best for me.

I looked in to this a while ago and even the owners manual says something about not towing these flat for more than xx miles (I think 50) without disconnecting the drive shaft. Reason being you are driving the transmission from the rear wheels with no internal lubrication. This may not apply to a manual trans but it's def something to confirm if you are going any distance or doing it often

This is true for any vehicle with an automatic transmission. It is not necessary for a vehicle with a manual transmission as it is splash lubricated.

I actually have a big dolly at the shop but i think its to big to tow with my e30. Haha. I am crazy and want to tow my e30 with my other e30. Anyway e30bulldog and i came up with absolution. We are going to ditch the bumper shocks and solid plate the frame rails. We will make a provision tomount the bumper but can take it off and use these as tow brackets.

There are actually some auto trans vehicles that will tow on all four. Saturn was one, jeep another....check what's behind motor homes Next time you are on the interstate. Some do have stand alone lube pumps or drive shaft disconnects but not all
