    Motor Mounts

Whats up everyone? Well, today I was working on replacing my control arms and removed the passenger side motor mount to gain access to the inner ball joint nut. Well, when I took out the motor mount I noticed something weird. There was no stud that came out of the top of the motor mount. There was this plate that had a stud attached that would screw into the mount arm and that plate would simply rest on top of the motor mount. Could this be the wrong motor mount? Also, the plate was resting on only the inside half of the motor mount on the passenger side and on the outside half of the motor mount on the drivers side. How could the engine have shifted over like that? And how would I alleviate this issue?

Your mounts has failed. On a daily driver the OE/OEM mounts are fine. But you can use poly mounts at the expense of a little more vibration being coupled into the cabin. I'll bet that the transmission (and possibly the diff mount) aren't in any better condition. My advice is to replace all of them.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
