Trying to find the right Roof Rack

I didn't know exactly where to put this, general e30 seemed to fit. I'm getting into Kayak'ing and i want to pick up a 10ft kayak soon. Can anyone tell me the EXACT setup i would need? I know theres going to be a lot but I'm looking to pick up like a Yakima base, with a single/double kayak rack.. I don't quite understand how they work. So do i need anything already before i buy the Yakima base rack? Or do i buy the base rack from Yakima and then add on a Kayak specific rack?

Any advice, pictures or links would be greatly appreciated!

P.S.. I found this, ECS Tuning says it fits my car, http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E30-325...ack/ES2931477/ But I want to be 100% sure.

The "feet" of the rack grab onto the gutter rails. You will need to buy a set of feet (4), 2 bars and then whatever kayak rack you want to mount to the bars.

I highly recommend looking for used stuff on Craig's list. New racks are $$$. You could save 50% or more buying used. You might even have a used rack store near you.

^^^ made me spit out my cereal!

        OP - I'm a Thule fan. For the E30, you'll need:

        - Model 300 or equivalent foot pack
        - Model LB50 load bars
        - Whatever kayak rack will fit "square" bars.

eBay has used racks and parts listed quite frequently.

The foot pack does not come with locks as standard, but those can be added. And the 50" load bars can be trimmed down to 42" or so if you'd rather not hit the side of your head every time you get in and out of the car.
