You need both. Fixing sunroof can become a fiasco real fast do to all other parts being so dry and fragile.

Yeah, I'm really nervous about pulling it apart for exactly that reason. Hence why I hadn't done anything about it yet.
I'll give my local BMW dealer a call and see if they have it or can get it.
Old BMW parts availability here is always a bit of a lottery.
