    Potential high milage e30 buy.

So I'm hoping to pick up a new e30 in a few weeks. I have an e30 now but due to extensive body rust I decided that for the kind of money I have invested in part and so on that it'll make more sense to just start with a rust free car. So I found a car and it's pretty close to me. It's the exact car I have now the only difference is my car is an 89 and the other is a 91. It's an alpine white II coupe, auto trans (I know), and it also has a factory MOON ROOF! This particular car was bought new from the guy who's selling it, no accidents, rust etc, and from the pics he's sent me its a very clean car. My only concern, and it's not really a major concern, is that he said he's done all of the maintenance work himself, which I could believe because these cars are easy to work on, and also the milage on the car is high. The car has 211k miles is that too much? When I bought my first e30 last year I was informed about these car but looking back I can see how I was naive in certain aspects of checking out the car regarding the body. With this one I plan to check it out throughly to make sure it's a car worth putting money into.

With 200k it could be just fine. It could also be a huge heap of shit. Go look at it.

most e30's wont have less miles they are 25+ years old, unless the odometer was broken for a decade

Look at it, drive it. That will tell you everything you need to know since you already know E30's.

Ask for maintenance records and see what he says or if he has them.

I would not hesitate on a 200K mile E30 that has been properly maintained, assuming the price is reasonable.

Like with any other used car, make sure you check it out. There are a couple E30 specific "Buyer's guides" out there on forums. Go in with your eyes open... and if you got a friend who's mechanically/car inclined, take them along. Never hurts to have another set of eyes.
