    Lovely no start this morning

    Good morning
So I wake up this morning and the car starts up for a second and then died and now the starter just runs with no sign of turning over

    What da fuq

The car has always started first try without any problems and now is sitting in my driveway while I take a taxi to work.

I know there isn't much info but I was just wondering if you guys have any ideas where I should start looking

Oh and to make things more complicated the car was built and wired by a crazy person (me)

This has happened about a year ago in cold weather but at that time I had two cars and the next day it started up without pause

So far I disconnected the battery to reset the codes and that did nothing

    Thanks

Do fuel pumps only fail only while driving?

When the key is turned I don't hear any noise coming from the fuel pump (seat and inspection cover removed

This happened to me yesterday morning. is it kicking over and just not catching? You can check to see if your getting fuel by taking off the lower fuel line on your FPR. Then watch it as you try and start it. If fuel is shooting out then your pump is fine? Also check the main and fuel pump relay

After the failed start all I could hear was the starter turning, no enige cough or anything....seemed like it wasn't getting any fuel

Well I just got back home so I can start checking stuff out

Weird thing is I walk back to the car and it starts right up, with no hesitation....and then dies
        Wtf

So the motor was not turning over, just the starter? In that case I would say your problem is with the starter

Yea but when I got into the car this morning it started right up but then died in the first second so I know the starter atleast was working fine and I think I should be tracking down what made the engine die after it turned over

When the starter is turning I don't hear anything from the fuel pump and I feel like I used to be able to hear a slight noise from the fuel pump(with the cover off) when the key was turned

After the car sat for 4 hours I was able to replicate the 1 second start that I experienced this morning, so I'm thinking the fuel pump is dead and it starts for a second because there is slight pressure buildup of fuel in the system

I know I have no useful diagnostic information on this thread yet....its Sunday, I'm watching football and I like to think out loud on r3v

I finally got off the couch and pulled the fuel line that connects to the fuel rail

No fuel comes out when I turn the key...guess I know what the problem is

              Hurray for mee
