Bolts for various parts underneath car.

I bought a car someone was in the process of repairing but never finished. Now I just want to make sure I'm putting the right bolts in the right areas. The bolts I'm talking about are the heatshield bolts, csb bolts, cross member bolts. Plus the 2 things that bolt to the trans. The zinc coated piece that's used to hold the exhaust, and the black short piece with a bushing at the end.
If anybody has pictures of the bolts used for these various things that would be great.

Was looking at real oem, but the pics aren't terribly detailed to see the bolts up close.
Took a picture of the nuts/bolts I have. I know we're about half of them go.
Some are for exhaust, driveshaft. Bunch for the heat shield. Front sway bar was off too so there could be some for that.

been a while since i looked at M20 but im pretty sure i know what im talking about.
bottom left, those three connect driveshaft to tranny output flange,
Bottom right the bolts with weird cuts are for heat shield. Short ones for the thin part of heat shield, long ones for the S bracket that is at forward end of heat shield that connects one side of trans tunnel to other.
Two bolts with the nuts on end in the very middle of the pic im pretty sure are for front subframe.
There are all for the most part the same size thead just different lengths. may have to feel out what goes were.

Yeah, my thoughts too. I know we're about half go. But like you said a lot are the same thread so just want to make sure I'm putting the correct length bolt in the the correct area.

But usually the thread diameter, bolt length and thread type are called out in the description.

Was thinking the same thing ;) the thread bitch and head size etc is next to the number in the key at the bottom in the light blue lines

Also if you want shiny new oe-style yellow zinc plated bolts, www.belmetric.com has good prices and crazy fast shipping. That's where I've been getting all of my tiny pretty shiny bits. BMW has started to use a dull gray finish on a lot of things ... probably better for corrosion resistance but I like that vintage gold zinc look.

I'll take another look at real oem. The problem is some of the bolts I don't know where they go so I can't look them up under the different categories.

These are the bolts for the center heat shield and the exhaust hanger at the rear subframe. 12-14 total I believe. Ordered from Bluntech. The 4 for the rear most center heat shield are sheet metal type screws.

The 2 small nuts with the big flanged washers look like the one for the heat shield above the muffler. I ordered those as well but threw out the bag already!

thanks. in the picture i have 4 sheet metal type screws, 2 different lengths.
looks like i have 13 of the other bolts. Im guessing the ones that are a little longer are the ones that go threw the center subrame support and heat shield.
