Hey rev members just bought my first e30 and heard about this forum from a friend. this thread is basically all the things im going to do to the car till im satisfied (which will be never). anyway, hope you guys like it!

first pics of the car, paint is a respray but looks pretty good. interior is almost perfect but driver side seat is ripped so if anyone has a blue driver side seat let me know plz.

found some rust in the trunk by the battery. took out the battery tray but the person that last owned the car put some cheap bolt on the plastic tray. so after an hour of dealing with the worst bolt ever, me and my friend finally grinded it off.
got the tray out and found some more rust, you can see the floor. so i shaved the area down to bare metal. almost done with it then to respray or weld new metal in havent decided yet.

took a break from the rust. I decided to peel the heavy trunk material using a flat head and a hammer. then i used a wire brush to smooth everything out.

I also bought some sheet metal from home depot. I hope its the right size. If anyone knows the width of the steel underneath the battery let me know plz. Im going to measure both widths tomorrow and try to weld it in.

Quick post before I leave for a couple days. I resprayed the trunk with flat black and it turned out pretty good.
Also im not really sure what direction I want to take the car in. I know first things first with reliability. But after that I was thinking maybe a chip or a "I" head swap. I'd also like to know the benefits of a five lug conversion? I know in the future a 373 LSD will be put in but I'd like to hear your guys thoughts?_____________________________________________

okay, me and balleristic31 welded (mostly him lol) new sheet metal in with flux core and smoothed it out with seam sealer.
Then, after we sprayed it flat black to prevent further rust.
Put everything back together. almost good as new.
NOTE: I know there are still holes ill work on them later.
NOTE: this was the first time either of us have done this type of body work._____________________________________________
