This is why I don't trust dentists

It's like working with used car dealers. Trying to find one you can trust is harder than it seems.

Can't watch the video now, but you are right.

I finally found a dentist I trust, and I trust him for one reason.

Every other dentist I've been to has tried to talk me into having my wisdom teeth pulled.

First visit with this guy for a cleaning I asked him what he thought. He looked at the xrays, asked if they were bothering me. I told him no, and he said he didn't think it would be worth the trouble.

Gotta watch out tho exodus that hes not the one who is bad. I had a dentist who lied to me about the condition of my teeth for years, when I moved out west my new dentist actually showed me all the cavities the other one had been ignoring.

Dont want a dude banking on you paying him for surgery/teeth pulling.

They did the same with my dad, he got a second opinion on his wisdom teeth being pulled and the second dentist said they look fine. They still aren't bothering him.

I wonder how this story would do in the states.

The only dentist I found, that I can trust, is in Tijuana. They pay for the taxi from the border, and the pay for the taxi to the border. The guy is trained up here and then has his practice down there to avoid all the 'fees'.

Root canal and crown in SD = $2500
          In TJ = $600.

          Edit:
          the work is 100/100
          the nurses are 10/10s

I'm not surprised it's better in Mexico. I've heard great things from dentists in other countries like S. Africa too.

If I was closer, I'd make a run for the border too ;)

I had a wisdom tooth come in a couple years ago and went to a new dentist (moved) and he was on my 3rd molars like a nymphomaniac tooth fairy. He said I should do it when I'm young because "recovery will be better." Then he said it would cost 7g's and if I wanted I could save a few hundred dollars by not doing anesthesia! What kind of upsale is that!!

What, you're telling me you all did this shit hopped up on anesthesia?
Screw that. Took down a bottle of Jack, and drove to the dentist. I shave with a rusty butterknife and kerosene.

I had all 4 wisdoms out at once. 4 shots of novicaine, and laughing gas to put my in my happy place... But still awake. It was insane... These smokin hot ladies are here, slicing my gums up, CRUNCHING MY GODDAMN TEETH INTO PIECES INSIDE MY HEAD, plucking the pieces out delicately, all while talking about whos-whos sister in law doing whatever she was doing on vacation. And yet... I was so numb I didn't even give a shit.

I guess my situation was different. 3/4 were going to impact my molars for sure if left alone, so we just did all 4 at once.

I think we're all in the wrong business though. Dentists can charge literally whatever they want.

Everyone can avoid the dentist by simply consuming lots of Vitamin D, consuming liquid minerals, eating well and avoiding sugar. You can actually remineralize your teeth and avoid demineralization/cavities.

                    Read.

There is much more info but this is a good start.

Sure, and I'm blessed to live in a community that puts flouride in the water... But it goes without saying that this only applies to the decay portion... Impacted wisdoms, if theyre going to happen, theyre going to happen... No matter what you do. Gotta yank em, gotta go to the dentist. ;)

But definitely. I've never had a cavity, and don't plan on it :))

"They" say flouride is good for teeth or bones, but its actually horrible for the entire body, cut out flouride tooth paste and water. Dont let FDA and the dental industry lie to you.

Just passing on some info, decision is yours. Ive done some extensive reading on this topic.

I've done similar research and found plenty of contrary evidence to support benefits of flouride... It has to do more with the concentration of the flouride than anything else. It takes a 'lot' of flouride to hurt you lmao. I can get you the numbers if you like, but I guess it's all in what you believe, and what you're comfortable with.

I think this might be one of the few times I stick with the 'they' word.

'They' want this for you. 'They' want you to have flouride. Fluoride is the key to dental success.

                          Indeed.

However, most of the countries in Europe which do not have water fluoridation did not find that their incidences of dental cavities increased. In Germany and Finland, for example, decay rates either remained stable or continued in their downward trend after they stopped adding fluoride to their drinking water.
I want water in my water lol. Dumping 'safe' amounts of poison in my water, for the sake of my teeth, sounds suspect at best.

Dozy, I may PM you for a referral. I am going back in to my dentist, who is incredible and very trust-worthy, for an implant. By the time I am done, I am paying $3200 for an implant and two cavities to be fixed. It sucks ass.
