    90' 325i Touring from Japan

100% Rust Free 1990 325i Touring with 107km Japan Market and LHD automatic.

We looked for a solid year for a touring before giving up and buying another coupe. Right before christmas a friend bought the seats from the coupe and we got to talking about their collection and how they had an e30 touring they didn't have time to restore.
The next day we took a tour of their collection... whoa... haha but they could really see how much love we had for BMW's and for the touring and decided to sell us the car to restore and love.

When we bought it it had been hit by a deer so the front passenger fender and it broke the headlights. Eventually the fender will be replaced and the whole car will be repainted as it is getting an M-Tech 2 kit and the paint needs work.

    the day we bought it.

    paint correction

we swapped the comfort seats for recaro's and put a 1989 MOMO wheel in.

put 5x120 epsilon southern way wheels on and new euro smiley's

and had to grab a german plate for the world traveler,

so much more to come, I'll try to update this as I can!!

I don't get why it's Japanese and LHD. I have a UK market Touring that is RHD and this one should be the same.

This was made in Germany for the Japanese market, most of the writing on the car is in Japanese - even the gas cap- and it was imported from Japan to the United States.
That is also why it's left hand drive instead of right hand drive like all of the ones imported from the UK

Still don't understand why they would not make it rhd but, whatever. It looks amazing.

Neither do I but of the other 3 e30's I've seen that were Japan market, they have all been left hand drive as well.

Not mad about it :) just makes the car that much more rare that it's not RHD

Looks great. Not my choice of wheels but hey I am boring and like factory style 5's.

I have a 1990 DS Touring 325i from Japan also. It is also factory LHD with Japanese stickers everywhere. Why they delivered LHD cars to Japan back then I don't know.

I also have a MTech 2 kit on another car, got me thinking, I should put it on the touring. I would just need the side stuff...
Pulling my hair out with all these friggin BMW's:
                      2000 M5 Winter beater
1984 318i Coupe 2.5 S14 going in the car below.
1988 M3 Lachssilber: I'm the second owner, currently recommissioning.

How did and where did you get new OEM mtech 2 kit, would you mind telling me? I have been in search for the side skirt and door pods forever, and I have not come across one on variois websites I've been on, maybe you can point me in the direction, s'il te plaît? [emoji4]

All BMWs imported into Japan are LHD. The Japanese preferred the LHD cars because it was seen as a status symbol/exclusive not only to drive a BMW, but an LHD car as well. Weird I know, but that's the reason haha.

Congrats on the purchase OP. Looking forward to the restoration!

We actually have 2 sets, one brand new set and another mint set. One set came directly from BMW and one set from the UK. You just have to be on the lookout constantly. We have an account through BMW and having the euro title allows us to order euro parts. All were available new except the passenger rear door pod, but I located one.
